Dubai logs 9,753 illegal parking cases in 2025 crackdown
Urban order boosted as RTA targets right-of-way violations citywide
DUBAI – Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recorded 9,753 cases of random parking within urban areas and the road right-of-way during 2025.
Vehicles found in violation were towed and impounded at Lehbab Yard in line with applicable legislation.
The enforcement drive forms part of ongoing efforts to preserve Dubai’s urban appearance and enhance traffic safety. It also aims to ensure smoother mobility for motorists and pedestrians while curbing practices that disrupt public order and visual standards.
Inspection drive
RTA inspection campaigns covered violations involving misuse of public parking spaces, encroachment on road and rail right-of-way, and other unauthorised use of shared transport corridors. These activities are monitored across Dubai as part of regular field operations aimed at ensuring compliance with regulations. Such practices undermine the city’s visual appeal and can directly disrupt traffic flow and safety within key urban corridors.
The authority coordinates with relevant entities to identify and address violations swiftly, reinforcing adherence to Executive Council Resolution No. (54) of 2021 regulating work in the right-of-way in the Emirate of Dubai. These measures reflect a structured enforcement approach designed to maintain order, protect infrastructure, and uphold urban standards across the city.
Safety measures
RTA oversees towing operations in partnership with Emirates Parkings, which is responsible for removing and impounding vehicles and movable assets found in breach of regulations. Response protocols require arrival at the location within no more than 60 minutes of receiving a report, ensuring rapid intervention against violations.
Impoundment procedures are completed within 24 hours, supporting efficient enforcement across Dubai. All vehicles are transferred to Lehbab Yard, where they are stored under regulated conditions. Comprehensive insurance coverage is provided against fire and theft, safeguarding assets belonging to individuals and organisations while maintaining strict operational standards.
